Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Excel Electricians holds all required Texas state licenses for residential and commercial electrical work. We carry $2 million in general liability insurance and full workers' compensation coverage.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, Keller, Burleson, Weatherford, Haltom City, North Richland Hills, and surrounding communities in Tarrant County. For commercial projects, we serve the entire DFW metroplex.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for all electrical projects. For emergency service calls, there is a standard diagnostic fee that is waived if you proceed with the repair.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, and offer financing for larger projects like panel upgrades and generator installations.
Pricing & Scheduling
How much does it cost to hire an electrician?
Our service call fee starts at $89, which covers the first 30 minutes of diagnostic time. Repairs are priced upfront after diagnosis so you know the exact cost before we begin. Common repairs range from $85 to $400. Larger projects like panel upgrades and rewiring are quoted individually.
How soon can you schedule a service call?
Most non-emergency service calls can be scheduled within 1-2 business days. Same-day service is available for urgent issues. Emergency service is available 24/7.
Do you charge extra for weekends or after-hours?
Our standard service call rate applies during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 7am-7pm, Saturday 8am-5pm). After-hours and emergency calls include a standard service fee, but we never charge surge pricing.
Emergency Services
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. A licensed electrician is typically on-site within 60 minutes for Fort Worth area emergencies.
What qualifies as an electrical emergency?
Sparking outlets, burning smells from walls or panels, complete power outages, exposed wiring, and water contact with electrical systems are all emergencies. When in doubt, call us and we'll help you determine the urgency.
What should I do while waiting for the electrician?
If safe, turn off the main breaker to the affected area. Do not touch any electrical equipment that is sparking, smoking, or has been in contact with water. Keep family members and pets away from the affected area.
Specific Services
How long does a panel upgrade take?
A standard 200-amp panel upgrade takes 6-8 hours and is completed in one day. Your power will be off for most of the work, so we recommend scheduling when your family can be away from home.
Can you install an EV charger at my home?
Yes. We install all major EV charger brands including Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, and Grizzl-E. Most installations take 2-4 hours and require a dedicated 240V circuit.
Do you install generators?
Yes. We are a Generac authorized dealer and also install Kohler and Champion generators. We handle the entire process from sizing and permitting to installation and inspection.
What is whole-home surge protection?
A surge protection device installed at your electrical panel that protects every device in your home from power surges. It costs $300-$600 installed and protects tens of thousands of dollars in electronics and appliances.
